At IdeaDLT ("we", "us", "our"), a sole proprietorship registered in Israel, trading as Hedgehog AI, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Hedgehog is designed with a local-first architecture — your data stays on your device whenever possible.

1. What We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Paddle.com (our Merchant of Record) — we do not store your credit card or payment details.

1.2 Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage metrics such as message counts, feature usage frequency, and session duration. This data is used to improve the Service and enforce plan limits. We do not track which websites you visit or what content you view.

1.3 AI Processing Data

When you send a message to Hedgehog, relevant page context and your request are transmitted to our servers and forwarded to third-party AI providers (Anthropic) for processing. This data is used solely to generate a response and is not stored on our servers after processing is complete. Third-party AI providers may retain data according to their own policies.

1.4 Data We Do NOT Collect

Knowledge Vault — Your personal knowledge vault is stored entirely on your local device. We never access, read, or transmit vault contents.
Browsing History — We do not track or store your browsing history.
Screenshots or Screen Content — Page analysis happens through DOM extraction in your browser. We do not take or store screenshots.
Conversation History — Past conversations are not stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and operate the Service
To process your AI requests in real time
To manage your account and subscription
To send important service updates (not marketing)
To improve the Service through anonymized analytics
To prevent abuse and enforce usage limits

3. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

Anthropic — AI request data for processing (subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy)
Paddle — Payment and billing data (subject to Paddle's Privacy Policy)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your data for training AI models.

4. Data Storage and Security

Account data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. AI request data is processed in real time and not persisted. We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews.

5. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data in a portable format

Paddle.com, as Merchant of Record, acts as an independent data controller for payment processing and handles GDPR compliance for billing data.

8. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when the policy was last revised.
