Your computer wasn't built for human flow. Now your AI lives across your desktop and your browser โ turning thoughts directly into action without breaking your stride.
One app, two surfaces. The Chrome extension installs from inside the desktop app โ one vault, one memory, synced across both.
Your personal AI ecosystem. It lives locally on your machine โ a desktop panel one shortcut away, a copilot in your browser. One vault, one memory, everywhere you work.
One install, two surfaces. Sessions, vault, and connectors stay in sync โ so the AI that summoned you mid-Slack is the same one waiting in your next tab.
Press โE from any app โ Finder, Notion, Slack, your editor. Standalone. Always one shortcut away.
A sidebar that sees the active tab. Summarize, extract, navigate โ and let autonomous agents click around for you.
No more explaining. It sees the active page, the data chart, the highlighted text. It knows exactly what you are looking at right now.
Assign a complex task. Hedgehog opens background tabs, navigates interfaces, gathers data, and alerts you when the work is done.
Private by design. Everything is stored locally. It learns your preferences, organizes past research, and connects ideas without sending your data to the cloud.
Generates on the fly. Need an image for a presentation? A custom mini-app for a repetitive math task? It writes the logic and generates the assets instantly.
Try the shift. 50 messages with full screen context and basic vault memory โ enough to feel the difference.
Your daily driver. 500 messages, image and video generation, mini-apps, and a vault that remembers everything.
No limits. Unlimited messages, unlimited generation, and priority processing when it matters most.
Hedgehog is a personal AI assistant for macOS and Windows. It lives as a Raycast-style overlay on your desktop and ships with a Chrome extension that can see the page you are on. It can chat with full context of your screen, drive your browser to complete tasks, and remember things across sessions in a per-workspace markdown vault on your machine.
Hedgehog uses Anthropic Claude models (Sonnet and Opus). By default your requests are routed through Hedgehog to Anthropic. If you prefer, you can plug in your own Claude key or subscription and your requests will go straight from your machine to Anthropic โ Hedgehog never sees them.
Your vault โ chats, memory, notes, files โ lives on your machine as plain markdown files. You can open the folder, edit notes by hand, or sync it with git or Obsidian. AI requests in proxy mode pass through a Hedgehog endpoint that forwards to Anthropic and discards the prompt after the response returns; we do not store conversations. In bring-your-own-key mode the request never touches our servers at all.
Chat with context of your active app and current browser tab. Run browser automation through worker agents โ compare prices across sites, fill forms, book travel, summarize long pages. Save and recall a per-workspace memory vault organized as plain markdown. Generate images and short video clips from prompts on Pro and Premium. Read screenshots and dropped files. Integrations with Gmail, Calendar, Slack and other connectors are on the roadmap but not live yet.
macOS (universal binary, DMG installer) and Windows (NSIS installer) for the desktop app. The Chrome extension (Manifest V3) is bundled into the desktop app and installs from inside it in one click โ no separate download. Linux, Safari and Firefox are not supported yet.
The Claude and ChatGPT desktop apps are chat windows you switch to. Hedgehog is an overlay that lives on top of whatever you are working on, like Raycast or Spotlight. It maintains separate memory vaults per workspace (work, personal, projects) instead of one shared chat history, it can drive your browser through worker agents instead of only chatting, and the vault is plain markdown that you fully own โ not locked inside an app database.
Hedgehog is in early access. Desktop is on version 0.3.x, with the Chrome extension bundled in. New features ship roughly weekly. Billing through Polar and auto-update infrastructure are in production โ you can use it daily, but expect a fast-moving feature surface.
Download the installer for macOS or Windows from askhedgehog.com, open it, and sign in. You get 50 free messages to try it out. For browser features, install the bundled Chrome extension in one click from inside the app, then upgrade to Pro when you need more headroom.
